An Individual Retirement Account (IRA) is a building block for retirement. Champions First Credit Union offers IRA Savings Accounts, which are ideal for people who want to easily access their retirement funds with a more low-risk option than IRA Investment accounts. We offer three types of IRA Savings Accounts: Traditional, Roth and Educational (Coverdell).

Choose the IRA Savings Account that's Right for You

Traditional

  • Ideal for individuals who expect to be in the same or lower tax bracket when taking withdrawals
  • Take advantage of tax-deferred growth now and pay taxes when you withdraw the funds

Roth

  • Ideal for individuals who expect to be in a higher tax bracket when taking withdrawals
  • Pay taxes on your contributions then take advantage of tax-free withdrawals later

Coverdell Education

  • Make contributions to a tax-advantaged savings account to pay for a child's future educational expenses
  • The funds can be withdrawn tax-free when needed to pay for qualified educational purposes

*APY=Annual Percentage Yield. All Share and Share Draft Accounts have a variable Annual Percentage Yield that is subject to change by the Credit Union at any time without advance notice to you.

Some Certificate Accounts are available for IRA Accounts.
