About Us

Champions First Credit Union is your financial champion!

Champions First Credit Union has been our members’ financial champion since 1954. Our credit union was originally founded to serve the Florida State University community but later expanded our membership eligibility to anyone who lives or works in Bay, Calhoun, Columbia, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Taylor, Wakulla, Walton, or Washington counties in Florida. We are proud to offer members a complete suite of banking products and services to meet every financial need.

We are also committed to building strong communities where our members live and work. We contribute to various charities, support local events, and give back to Florida State University through donations and scholarships. This commitment to our communities has been recognized through several local and national awards from the Credit Union National Association including multiple Dora Maxwell Awards for Social Responsibility and the Louise Herring Philosophy in Action Awards.

As a credit union, we are a democratically owned and controlled institution based on “people helping people” principles. When you join Champions First Credit Union, you are a member and part owner, not just a customer.

  • Anyone who lives or works in Bay, Calhoun, Columbia, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Taylor, Wakulla, Walton, or Washington counties
  • FSU students in good academic standing
  • FSU faculty and staff
  • Members and employees of organizations that are part of the FSU community
  • Members and employees of businesses that do business with or have offices at FSU
  • Family members of existing Champions First Credit Union members
  • Employees of Champions First Credit Union

Once you’re a member of Champions First Credit Union, you’re always a valuable part of our credit union family. Even if you move out of the area or leave your current employer, your membership with us is still welcome. And you can still take advantage of our convenient services no matter where you are.

Champions First Credit Union accounts are federally insured up to $250,000 via a fund maintained by the U.S. Treasury and administered by the NCUA.
