In the wake of the catastrophic damage caused by Hurricane Michael, Champions First Credit Union committed all of the administrative funds raised through the Skip-A-Pay program to hurricane relief efforts. The credit union donated $13,000 to employees of local credit unions who were devastated by the storm in addition to more than $15,000 to the hurricane relief funds of the Community Foundation of North Florida and Southeastern Credit Union Foundation.
The Community Foundation of North Florida (CFNF) activated its disaster relief fund immediately following the storm’s impact and is still requesting contributions to assist the 11 counties covered in its service area, all of which are in the FEMA disaster declaration area. Champions First Credit Union’s donation to the Hurricane Relief Fund will be matched by the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, doubling the impact of the gift.
