Merger Information

Yes, following the data conversion, on or after August 1, 2022, you will need to enroll in the Champions First Credit Union online banking platform to use the features of online banking, including the automatic bill payment tool. Prior to July 29, 2022, we recommend you document any payees you have set up in your FDOTCU bill pay system so you have this information available to enroll in the Champions First bill payer system.

From July 29-July 31, 2022, your accounts and account balances will be transferred from the Florida DOT Credit Union (FDOTCU) data system to the Champions First Credit Union (CFCU) data system. Please note the following important dates:

Week of July 20, 2022

• Active Visa Credit Card Users will receive their new FDOTCU-CFCU Visa Credit Cards in mid to late July of 2022, but cards cannot be used until July 25, 2022.

Week of July 24, 2022

• Active Visa Debit Card users will begin receiving new FDOTCU-CFCU Visa Debit Card the week of July 24, 2022, but cards cannot be used until August 1, 2022.

July 25, 2022

• Members can begin using their new FDOTCU-CFCU Visa Credit Cards.

July 29-31, 2022

• All FDOTCU-CFCU member accounts will be merged and transferred to the CFCU data system.
• Access to the FDOTCU Online Banking, Online Bill payment and Bank-By-Phone System will be discontinued on Friday, July 29 at 5:00 P.M.
• Members may experience some interruption to Visa Debit Cards during the data conversion from July 29-31.

August 1, 2022

• Members can begin using their new FDOTCU-CFCU Visa Debit Cards.
• Members can enroll in FREE Online Banking and Bank-By-Phone.
• Members can download the FREE CFCU mobile App.
• Members can enroll in Online Bill Payment.
• Members can enroll in FREE debit and credit card alerts.

Yes, you will receive a new Visa debit card, which should arrive before July 29, 2022. While you may activate this card immediately, this card cannot be used until August 1, 2022, following the data system conversion. Your new Visa debit card will have a new number and your PIN (Personal Identification Number) will need to be reset with the new card by calling 866-985-2273. You must call from a number listed on your account.

The President/CEO of the credit union will remain Champions First Credit Union President/CEO Charles E. “Chuck” Adcock, III. Chuck has been part of the Champions First Credit Union team for more than 25 years. Kevin Keith, current Florida DOT Credit Union President/CEO will serve the combined credit union in an Executive Vice President role.

Members of the Champions First Credit Union and Florida DOT Credit Union team will conduct market research to finalize brand determination. In the interim, the former Florida DOT Credit Union will be called Florida DOT Credit Union, a Division of Champions First Credit Union.

The combined credit union now has nearly $400 million in assets and around 32,000 members.

Following the Special Meeting on December 17, 2021, when all member votes to enter into the merger agreement were tallied and finalized, the official effective date of the merger was January 1, 2022.

Anyone who is a member of Florida DOT Credit Union is now a member of Champions First Credit Union.
